“Yoga is for everybody.

All you need is a little bit of willpower and the willingness to learn.”

-Kylie Bailey

Meet Kylie Bailey

Kylie Bailey is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and health journalist, who spent 15 years dedicated to working in the crazy, deadline-driven world of women’s magazines. Experiencing a sea change at the age of 34, she has since devoted herself to practice, teach and write about yoga and healthy living.

Kylie’s fascination with yoga first began at a class in her local hall at the age of 15. She has been practicing yoga for more than a decade and works with Suzi Carson at Four Winds Yoga to facilitate ongoing
teacher training and development.

Born and raised on the wild, black sands of Piha and Karekare Beach, when the writer moved back to the coastal community, she felt compelled to train to be a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and open a yoga school from her home. Luckily, she was able to convince her husband Gareth and their dogs that this was a good idea!

West Coast Yoga classes started in 2019 and have grown to include both studio and online classes.
In 2022, Kylie moved into the Piha Schoolhouse, where she teaches weekly Iyengar yoga group classes
to the local community.
